„Das Schöne und das Biest“ umfasst ausgewählte Gebäude aus den Jahren 1950 bis 1970, größtenteils aus dem Architekturstil des Brutalismus. Der Fokus liegt hierbei auf den besonderen, gewaltigen Formen der Bauten. Durch meine subjektive Perspektive wirken die Gebäude beinahe wie Raumschiffe auf dem Weg zu einem fernen Stern. Der Titel bringt den Zwiespalt in der Wahrnehmung der Gebäude zum Ausdruck: Überall sind die meist eher verhassten Betonmonster zu finden, deren eigene Schönheit ich einfangen will.
The art of raw architecture.
“Beauty and the Beast” comprises selected buildings from 1950 to 1970, mostly from the Brutalist architectural style. The focus here is on the special shapes of the buildings. Due to my subjective perspective, the buildings almost look like spaceships on their way to a distant star. The title expresses the dichotomy in the perception of the buildings: you can find the rather hated concrete monsters almost everywhere, whose own beauty I want to capture.
